DSL – Week 3 Email

Good after all:

This week’s email just has a few items, including a couple of lead time items to get on everyone's radar for postseason play.

1. Attached is the most current contact list.  If any further changes are needed, please get them to me in advance of Sunday, September 20, for distribution later that week.

2. Developmental tournament – Registration opens tomorrow morning for the Developmental Tournament / JV/V girl’s tournament.  This year the tournament will be held again at No Offseason, Russellton and will take place on Saturday, October 24th.  Registration will remain open through Friday, October 9th.  As in the past, registration is first come, first serve and I do expect the younger brackets to fill up as they have in years past as we cap tournament brackets at 16 and some of those age brackets have more than 16 teams registered for regular season play.  As in the past, the ½ grade levels will be 5v5, the ¾ grade levels will be 7v7 and the JV/V girls’ level will be 5v5.  We recommend maximum roster sizes of 11 for the 5v5 format and 15 for the 7v7 format as the play in and semifinal games are a rolling 20 minutes long and the championship games are two 15-minute halves, so larger rosters will have more difficulty getting players on and off the field due to the shorter play format. Let me know if you have any questions.

3. Playoffs – For the JV/V Co-ed games, will have play in games on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 4-6 at the Pullman fields in Butler and we will have the semifinals and finals on Saturday and Sunday, November 7 & 8 at Merrick Field at Seton LaSalle High School.  For Varsity MLS, the top 4 teams will qualify and for the JV MLS and Varsity and JV Premier, the top 6 teams will qualify.
