Coaches:
Some last minute items as we get ready to head into what looks like a wet tournament weekend:
1. We will play, rain or shine. While it does look like it could be rainy at times we are fortunate in that the temperatures will not be dipping. One the off chance that the venue shuts down its fields I’ll let everyone know, but they have assured me that their turf has excellent drainage and can handle this weekend’s weather.
2. Bring two colors of pinnies for your team, one for your keeper to wear and one to wear in the event that your jersey’s clash with the team you are playing. In the event that both teams’ jerseys are too similar to play (as determined by the referee or tournament director) the away team is obligated to change into pinnies or different jerseys. If that is not possible the away team risks forfeiting the game, so bring your pinnies and have them ready.
3. I will have benches for teams to sit on. Home teams sit on the black bench, away teams sit on the blue bench. Bring a few towels to dry off the benches if you want as I am almost certain that those benches will get wet.
4. There will be wind on Saturday and most likely there will be some rain. Remember tents are allowed only if they are adequately weighted down. You may not stake the tents into the turf. That will result in a very expensive bill for your school and a brand new turf field for our venue. In addition see my earlier email on other venue rules (no coolers larger than a six pack cooler, no grills, no heaters, no pets, etc.).
5. There will be a concession stand at our venue and bathrooms (as opposed to porta potties) that we have access to.
I’ll be working on setting up the fields on Friday so I may not be responsive via email. If there are questions that arise between now and Saturday feel free to text or call me.
